PCAHA Communication Process

Communication Process
Effective communication is essential for the smooth operation of our Minor Hockey Association. To ensure that all members, from parents to managing directors, are informed and involved, we have established a clear communication process. Respecting this process helps us maintain clarity, accountability, and efficiency within our organization.
Parents
Parents, as the primary guardians of children registered in minor hockey, are encouraged to communicate directly with the Team Coach/Manager. Whether you have questions about schedules, team activities, or other concerns, your first point of contact should always be the Team Coach/Manager.
Team Coach/Manager
The Team Coach/Manager is responsible for the direct oversight of the team’s activities and acts as the liaison between parents and higher levels of the organization. Coaches and managers should compile any significant issues or queries from parents and bring them to the attention of the League Manager.
League Manager
League Managers are volunteers responsible for the running of a PCAHA league. They receive communications from Team Coaches/Managers and work closely with the Managing Director to ensure that the league operates smoothly. League Managers play a crucial role in addressing operational concerns and facilitating the implementation of league-wide policies.
Managing Director
The Managing Director oversees one of the eleven leagues under PCAHA. This volunteer position involves coordinating with League Managers and ensuring that the league adheres to PCAHA guidelines and standards. The Managing Director addresses escalated issues from League Managers and communicates with the Association President as necessary.
Association President
The Association President is the head of your Minor Hockey Association. They are responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the association. Communication to the Association President usually flows through the Managing Director, ensuring that issues are appropriately escalated and managed.
Association Representative
An Association Representative, often a Division Manager, is a member of your Minor Hockey Association. They play a key role in supporting the Association President and may step in to address specific issues within their division. Communication with the Association Representative generally follows the same process as with the Association President, ensuring a streamlined and efficient approach.
Respecting the Communication Process
It is vital for all members to respect the established communication process. Directly approaching higher-level officials without following the proper channels can lead to confusion and inefficiencies. By adhering to this process, we can ensure that all issues are addressed systematically and that every member’s voice is heard in an organized manner.
Together, we can foster a supportive and well-coordinated environment for our Minor Hockey Association, ensuring the best experience for our players and their families.
